With his uncommonly open mind, his apetite for all repertoires, Alexis Kossenko has proved to be one of today’s most versatile and interesting musicians :
He is equally involved in Renaissance repertoire with The Garden of Delights ; Vivaldi or CPE Bach concertos as a soloist with Arte dei Suonatori ; Brahms symphonies as solo flautist of la Chambre Philharmonique under the direction of Emmanuel Krivine ; chamber music by Saint-Saëns or Fauré with l’Armée des Romantiques ; Prokofiev or Poulenc sonatas with pianist Rémy Cardinale… Alexis Kossenko is one of the very few flautists to perform as a soloist on the most prestigious stages, on the recorder or the traverso as well as on the modern flute.
In the last year, he carreer as a conductor has been florishing ; he is now undertaking a new and exciting project with the foundation of a European orchestra, Les Ambassadeurs. Convinced by the essential role of Eloquence in music, Les Ambassadeurs go on their on path away from dogmas, schools and fashions, and prove that there is no ancient music : all musics have been and remain modern.
